Ingredient Spotlight: Strawberry Seed Oil

When we were fine-tuning the magical formulas for our products, an important factor was antioxidants--the components that fight free radicals, slow down the effects of aging, and battle against sun damage. Antioxidants are necessary to combat inflammation, both on a superficial and a cellular level.

Strawberries are beloved around the world not only for their sweet taste but also their nutrition content--they contain more vitamin C per serving than oranges. The oil is cold pressed from the tiny seeds, and absorbs easily into the skin. It is packed with minerals and helps repair your skin’s natural moisture barrier, leaving you feeling supple, luminous and sexy.

Strawberry seeds also contain high levels of alpha-linolenic acid, which cannot be synthesized by the body and can only be absorbed from external sources. When the oil is applied topically, the alpha-linolenic acid reduces irritation and inflammation. The seeds also contain much higher levels of polyphenols, the phytochemicals that give strawberries their bright color, and tiliroside, a flavonoid that acts as a liver cleanser and free-radical scavenger.
